How I Became Famous

For those who haven't seen it recently and those who have never seen it, here is a bit of what I did in my misspent youth:

I don't think most would consider that misspent youth. I'm guessing that up until the point where they were shooting at you, it was just about as much fun as a person could have with thier clothes on.

That was pretty great, especially after reading your books. A starring role too.
Although the SAM launches would have tkaen all the fun out of the job.

    So how's that "war injury?"

  4. Got this on DVD at home - good stuff! Aside from the obvious name association, I always thought Red River Valley suited well the footage of Thuds going to work. On that note, I seem to recall similar footage elsewhere with Whiskey In The Jar in the background - a good match as well.

I'm with hitman, a "misspent youth" it was not.

  5. Ed,
Who was that just prior to your "FOD" line? Karl Richter?

  6. Juvat, that was Bill Ricks who was #3 in the 100 mission flight. My roommate. Later returned in F-4 and after that F-15. Retired as an O-6 in '85 at Holloman where he was DO of the 479th and ran afoul of the prissy wing commander.
