A really terrific offering, there. I'd never seen cotton growing before. Trooper pulled over on that Georgia roadside. I waded out to the field and snatched at the white poof of cotton - except I had to snatch my hand back, bleeding from the pricked wounds.
In that moment - that second of sharp breathing inward - I understood a great deal, indeed.
