But today we have a premier event. This is the coming out party for Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan. (No pun intended.) She participates in the first court decision. She votes with the liberal minority.
Execution Stay Denied
I'm not surprised. Who could not be sympathetic to a heinous killer who has been tried, convicted and sentenced of a crime deemed worthy of snuffing him.
What I am surprised about is that the lower courts granted stays. The reason?
That is worthy of Saturday Night Live! The judge is worried that the drug might not be safe for its intended use which is to KILL SOMEBODY!Since the only U.S. manufacturer of sodium thiopental had suspended production, Arizona officials said they had obtained a supply of the drug from a British company.A judge had put the execution on hold because she said she was "left to speculate" whether this drug was safe for its intended use.
What could be the possible indicators that a drug which kills you is unsafe? Are you more dead or less dead or equally dead if it is unsafe? What does a safe lethal drug look like?

I think it's a Zombie thing Ed. Unsafe drugs make you undead. Of course if the Zombies then head to the 9th Circuit for a meal they'll be badly disappointed and decidedly hungry.
Wonder what the radio commercial for that drug sounds like?
"...possible side effects may include...do not take sodium thiopental recreationally...do not use sodium thiopental repeatedly..."
I agree that a great comedy sketch could be made from the SC idiocy on this one.
Just not sure that SNL, these days, is worthy of it.
Millions of your tax dollars at work here.
I wonder if the good Justice would deem it safe as an abortion drug?
