There was a post cited on Instapundit yesterday or the day before from Megan McArdle which basically said Perry shouldn't take credit for the economy in the State because he has little power to influence it. In my mind, that's exactly WHY he should take credit for it.
"Look, if we just butt out, the economy driven by the best interests of business will take care of itself."
