We haven't looked to Great Britain for a view of our future for many decades. We gave them great respect for their resistance to Hitler and their performance in the Battle of Britain. We've had a "special relationship" with Britain for a very long time.
Now, we see this and I can honestly say that it might be a glimpse into our future:
They are in the position of trying to backtrack. Maybe we can notice and stiffen a bit to prevent going down that path.
