Not in any way surprising, but I think this falls directly in the category of news that the media should not have released. All it does is give potential terrorists valuable intelligence. If they know it's that easy to slip through, then more of them are going to try. And probably succeed. And on the bonus side, the government can say that what they are doing still isn't enough, so it's time for the next round of even MORE intrusive restrictions.
