In Other Words

Romney didn't describe it "elegantly" but here's another expression of exactly what he was talking about. It is what makes America great...isn't it?

Where Romney was off base with his '47%" comment was that there are a lot of people in that figure who still work hard and are not looking for handouts. I know, because I used to be one of them.

We may have a record number of people on food stamps, but the real tragedy is that a lot of those people work full time. Something is very wrong with that picture.

I would say that Bill O'Reilly has it closer to the mark. He's opined more than once that it is more like 30% that fit the profile Romney described in that clip (and that we see in this one): people who see themselves as "entitled victims". Yes, that 30% Romney can forget about...and any other Republican can forget about them, too.

But by writing off a lot of people who are looking for a better day in this country - a day that Romney may in fact be able to help bring about - he has done himself significant harm. For the sake of the country, I hope he can overcome that. Well, that plus the incredibly biased media...

I still expect Romney to win, but I'm not as confident as I was a few months ago. G-d help us if he doesn't.

This woman is all over the blogs displaying her apparent stupidity. Kind of makes you proud to be an American.
