Yesterdays post re the lead rifle bullets prompted me to check out the NRA(NZ) site.
An article there on our gun laws stated several interesting facts.
1. Gun crime is low, only 2% of all crime. 2. Virtually all of this is with illegal weapons. 3. Violent crime is high. As at 2005 we had 1180 violent crimes per 100,000 people. Compare this with the US figure of 469.
Yes, you are twice as likely to be a victim in clean,green,nuclear free,peace loving,loopy lefty NZ as you are in the US!.
All the obvious facts about guns for self defence speak for themselves.
Also a good example of why the US is a superior democracy to others. You uphold the natural right of self defence with your gun laws.
