Had to watch a bit for professional curiosity reasons, but finally the gag reflex overcame me and I had to leave the room. When he got to his interpretation of the lessons of the election, he actually said, "The message from the electorate to Republicans is..."
There was no message to Republicans from the voters. The message, pure and simple was to the Democrats and most explicitly to the Messiah and his team of strong-arm thugs. The message was that we are mad as hell. We won't take it any more. We are armed and dangerous. Armed with our intellects and dangerous to those who would steal our nation from us.
The national results were gratifying. It wasn't a perfect night as some races didn't go the way I wanted, but so many did that the shouts from in front of my TV last night must have disturbed the entire neighborhood. Rubio spanked Crist. Toomey grabbed the Arlen Specter turncoat seat. Kirk beat the mafioso in Illinois. And, wonder of wonders, Rand Paul was the first race called last night by Fox News.
In Texas the traditionally conservative bedrock which had been drifting leftward as domestic migration from liberal areas and rise of ethnic minority populations in metropolitan areas led to more popularity for Dems, the election was a big sweep for the Good Ol' Party.
Every statewide race was won by a Republican, and the state legislature which had been almost evenly split in the House at 77-73 for a narrow Republican majority, picked up twenty seats!
Across Texoma-land, the Republicans cleaned up big time.
The sun is shining today, the breeze is warm and life is good in the heartland.
