Royal families have always run a risk. The necessity of maintaining the "blood line" and keeping royalty royal has often resulted in a decline over time of talent. Inbreeding deteriorates the breed. One need only read of the decline and fall of Rome to see the syndrome. The erosion of the French royal family as the series of Louis' progressed in the path to revolution is another example. The Romanoffs ditto. And, how about the writings, speeches and love letters of that heir to the throne, Charles? The metaphor of lover as feminine hygiene product is timeless.

So then, what of these entitled descendents who have made a family business of governance?
