You Knew He Was a Snake

There is a famous Texas parable about the panhandle cowboy riding the fence line in a bone-chilling snowstorm like the one that is blowing through right now. He comes across a snake in the trail, lying half frozen in the snow. He picks up the snake and feeling compassion he puts the snake inside his duster to be warmed back to life by the heat of his body. Within a short time, the snake is revived and bites him to the heart. As the venom takes effect and the cowboy breaths his last, he asks, "Why?"

The snake looks at him and says, "Why are you surprised? You knew I was a snake when you picked me up."

The people of California had a choice for governor last November. They could pick a successful billionaire business woman who knew how to run a company and make money at it, or they could pick a governor and liberal from 40 years ago who still suckles at the taxpayer's withered dugs. They chose Governor Moonbeam, Part Deux. They knew he was a snake when they picked him up.

So, why is this the slightest bit astonishing?

Raise Taxes for Handouts So We Aren't Like Egypt!

California is a welfare state. It takes from any business or working person and hands out to the teeming, drug-addled, crime-ridden, cesspools of the cities. Productivity is fleeing at an incredible rate and companies are rushing to more business friendly and conservative states. Palm trees and sea coasts are nice only if you can live on the fruits of your labor.

It isn't because taxes are too low in California, Jerry. It is because they are too high.

Even Gov. Moonbeam's old girlfriend could tell us the truth about him not raising taxes:

"That'll Be the Day!"

What blows me away is the number of supposedly educated intelligent people who actually think "Higher" taxes will fix anything. And who believe we are not taxed enough....somehow they always seem to think they are taxed enough but their neighbor somehow isnt ...
