Dugout Doug challenged Harry Truman on tactics and the artillery captain one-upped the battlefield general. Militia Captain Abe Lincoln had the last word over George McClellan. Now it looks as though Press Secretary Robert Gibbs will slice and dice the counter-insurgency operator on behalf of the Emperor:
Handling Obama's Heavy Lifting
When Gibbsy speaks clearly, you know you're in a heap of trouble.
Right now, early reports indicate that Gen. Petraeus will be digging out the cammies and putting the dress greens in the closet.
I'm just fantasizing about how powerful a message could be delivered here, if Petraeus simply said, "No thanks, Mr. President."

If I was Pereus, I certainly would reject the "demotion" from CENTCOM commander. MacDill beats hell out of Afghanistan.
Since the Marxist needs a scapegoat when Afghanistan fails, I wonder if he's trying to kill two birds with one stone: Petreus seems to have had his eyes on civilian politics in 2012.
If the article is read again it can be seen for the piece of muck raking journalism that it is.
Just about all the observations and opinions are the journalists own, dressed up with some unfortunate comments by the Generals staff.
Gen. McChrystal offers up nothing that warrants the articles title.
I understand that breaking ranks
is a sin but surely anyone worth their salt could have a field day discrediting this article and its author if they so wished.
I notice that Hastings is now offering his opinion on the Hire/Fire options via Rolling Stone.
What an Arsehole.
Is there something else behind all this?.
