Jindal in Wonderland

Yes, there's a crisis going on and the damage, once sustained, will be hard to remove. So, why then isn't it happening? Maybe it is a function of government bureaucracy. "We've got rules and regulations" and they must be followed:

Who Built These Barges and Where are Your Fire Extinguishers?

The Coast Guard needed to confirm that there were fire extinguishers and life vests on board, and then it had trouble contacting the people who built the barges.

Excuse me? Were the barges built well before the current problem? Didn't the Coast Guard already have that information? Can this be anything other than higher headquarters directed stalling? It has to be intentional because it is too ludicrous to be simple bungling.

Watch the video, then do the math. Sixteen barges for x number of days sucking up oil at a rate of 4,000 gallons an hour per barge. That's a lot of oil, ain't it?

Let's get cap and trade passed to fix the problem! What do you think?

I think that Jindal and the other Gulf state Governors should appoint
1 - all the members of the "independent third-party" board distributing the BP slush fund that Obama extorted from the company - instead of the federal "executive pay-limitation" czar and Clinton co-conspirator Jamie Gorelick.
- AND -
2 - the affected-states' single-source HMFIC approval person for emergency oil-slick remedies. He would be the one responsible for informing ADM Allen of what they will be doing, and accept for consideration (within a maximum of 24 hours) federal evidence of why the idea is inferior to any alternate emergency measure already in use. He also would coordinate with the respective governors for NG/ANG protection against boarding interference for volunteer foreign vessels/crews that aid the environmental cleanup.
