As promised, the Wall Street Journal review runs today. Book reviews are always a thrill, a validation of your work and a feedback regarding how a reader perceives your efforts. This one is a homerun!

Congratulations Ed. I cannot wait to read this book. It will have a place of honor on the shelf in my den. I wish you much success.

I wish the reviewer got in deeper, but it does whet my appetite!

I have a copy of Dorr's book on the F-101, in which Olds is discussed at length, both commanding the 81st Tactical Fighter Wing in England, and also in SEA, where Olds was especially considerate of the RF-101 pilots and their tough mission--no Voodoo pilot ever had to buy his own drinks in the club, by Olds' special order.

Of Olds' character Door says, "He was the only officer of whom the author can say that no one who ever served with him, from his enlisted armourers to his star-studded bosses, ever uttered the first criticism--except, as will be seen, when he tried to make the Vodoo acrobatic."

There is an engaging picture of Olds sitting in the cockpit of a Voodoo looking content and relaxed, the corners of his lips tugging upwards in a slight smile--and also sans mustache.

I've ordered the book and should have it soon...am really looking forward to reading it.
Your two books about your own experiences are great. I've read both of them twice.
