Dealing With Civilian Leadership

The day was spent trying to get the DSL up and running. Morning was greeted with no internet and all attempts to connect with the usual stuff were failures. Call to tech support got the disavowal regarding the posibility that their DNS server might be down. Reset the modem (again), reboot your computer and router (again), take the router out of the system and go directly from modem to PC (despite that the modem had no internet connection). White truck pulled up in the driveway this PM. "You aren't connected to the Internet," he reports.

Turns out when I availed myself of a new bargain rate bundle that would double my connection speed for a few bucks a month less than before, that I was mis-wired in the DSL system. Got it fixed and now bask in connection speeds roughly three times faster than before.
