Fighter Porn

You may ask yourself why? But then, why not?

When your country is mostly above the Arctic Circle and winter lasts a long time, you've got to stop the jet on ice. Wheel brakes don't work. Drag chutes are marginal if there is any cross-wind in icy conditions. Tail hooks and arresting gear are slow for recovery of multiple aircraft.

And, it's a real hoot for air shows!

Always liked the Viggens. Curious how they would have fared in actual combat...

The little BD-5J had a thrust reversal setup. At least one crashed due to engagement while airborne. (it was really effective)
