In yet another big slice of humble pie for the BCS and their parent company, the Southeast Conference, we see that the Heisman Trophy goes to a small school in central Texas which has largely been below the radar for the last twenty years. Baylor played a lot bigger than anyone could have anticipated this year and most of it was largely due to Robert Griffin III.
RG III Wins Heisman for Waco College
The runner-up in voting was not from the SEC either. He came from the PAC 12 and was also from a school which hasn't been thought of as a contender on the national scene for quite a while, Stanford.
The vaunted SEC? Their "Honey Badger" was a distant third and may not be able to pay his hairstylist bill for a couple of months until the first check from his future NFL employer clears the bank.

All the selection of Griffin is that the Heisman selection committee makes really bad choices. He is another among many. He's not a bad player by any means, but he is in a cupcake school in a cupcake conference. Bad competition makes athletes look better. Baylor has not played much of anybody and certainly has not beaten anyone.
Trent Richardson should have won it. If I could draft or trade for players from another team, he's the guy I would take.

I don't know if you've already heard, but today is the last day of production for the F-22 at Lockheed here in Atlanta.

The final F-22 Raptor will roll off the Lockheed Martin assembly line in Marietta on Tuesday.
The F-22 is the world’s only operational 5th generation fighter, and uses a mix of stealth, advanced sensors and advanced air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons. The Air Force F-22s have recently been deployed to Japan and Guam to enhance security in the Pacific theater.
The final Raptor will be delivered to the U.S. Air Force next year, and completes the operation of the F-22 fleet of 187 fighters.
"Cupcake school in a cupcake conference..." Wanna check out the AP Top 25 coaches poll and see the conferences of the membership? The vaunted SEC doesn't dominate by a very long shot.
