About the War

Another turn on JetHead Live, this time talking about the air war over North Vietnam. The focus is on contrasting the early days in the F-105 as a petrified young lieutenant with the end days and being unleashed for Linebacker as an experienced flight lead. Along the way we get to talk about the political issues and the constraints of trying to keep a conventional conflict from escalating into a major power nuclear confrontation.

Ed,
I especially liked your comments on the political value of the war.
It was worth it, it was not a defeat and I'm sure that this historical view will prevail.

Re international relations on the USA/NZ front, we currently have US troops on exercise with us here in NZ...

It has been a long time, but I personally am delighted.
