The Fact of the Matter Is...

When you hear that phrase, you can with certainty state that the next words will be anything but the fact of the matter under discussion. Anyone who has watched the full campaign mode of the Bamster for the last eight months and the full extravagance mode of the First Family is not worried about Secret Service or that the chief executive travels to state functions on AF-1. It is about the abuse of the perks while there are clear needs for policy prescriptions.

More facts on the matter. What's the matter you might ask? NOBODY in the Congress is actually DOING anything about it.....after all I suppose....glass houses and all that insider's club rot!!! After 33 years in the AF, there is NOBODY who can tell me that this is business as usual and all of it being carefully reimbursed. I've been to a number of county fairs, a fair number of hog callin's, but I've never seen a goat roundup like this Federal government today.

The article:
The Re-Election Air Force ?
Looting the Treasury for personal gain ...
Your tax money at work for re-election ...
All true à http://www.89aw.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123282220

The United States Air Force has established two new aircraft squadrons to support the administration's travel needs during the campaign season. The 305th and 306th Expeditionary Airlift Squadrons were activated as subordinate units of the 89th Airlift Wing on December 1.

The 305th will operate out of New Castle, DE, with 5 C-130H medium lift transport aircraft, 8 full sets of aircrew, 60 maintenance personnel, and 12 operations personnel are assigned.

The 306th will operate out of Andrews AFB, with 4 C-17 heavy lift transports, 7 full aircrew, 60 maintenance personnel, and 10 operations personnel will be assigned.
Operations for the two squadrons are to commence in April, and will run through the election. The aircraft and personnel will be released back to their original units after the election on Nov 2. These aircraft and personnel are being made available to the President and his administration IN ADDITION to the normal access to all of the 89th's executive transports and the VC-25 jumbo jets usually used as Air Force One so that the President can use them for his re-election bid. All of these aircraft and personnel are being provided at taxpayer expense.

OK Colonel, is it just my insensitive afterburner, or am I detecting a very genuine decline in the national "giveashit" factor?? Some slack jawed "let them eat cake" response seems a little "distanced."

Didn't we spend a lot of time in strange places eating weird food and drinking strange brew....fighting for "freedom?"

And now we have a guy who is absolutely taking us down....all the way into the sewers of humanity.....the RHAW is screaming....

Let them eat cake???

Never call me Colonel. I am not now and never have been a colonel of any kind in any service.

@Nealcroz
You weren't following me sir. The translation is what I took away from the Bamsters' response to the question he was asked and the impression that I have from his and his families' attitude since his election.

My deepest, and most sincere apology to you sir. And to think in my short assignment as an AF PME instructor, I taught students to "analyze your audience" and failed miserably to do so myself.

I regret the error considering that I have great respect for the things you did in and around and up Pack 6.
